PCS and PPM: what’s the difference?
PCS is your permanent change of station. A Personally Procured Move (PPM), often called DITY, is a way to move some or all of your household goods yourself or through a company you arrange. A partial PPM combines that with a government-arranged shipment.
Get transportation counseling and authorization before committing to a PPM. Ask about current allowances, expenses, advances and settlement requirements; this tool does not estimate or guarantee payment.
Your Navy starting point
Confirm the PPM claim route and current required documents with your Personal Property Office. Coordinate your separate PCS travel claim with your CPPA.
