A point paper is useful when a leader needs the issue quickly. The best examples are short, fact-dense, and organized around the decision or awareness requirement.

Example point-paper structure
- Subject or issue
- BLUF or purpose when appropriate
- Key facts
- Discussion or analysis
- Impacts or considerations
- Recommendation or way ahead when required
What makes a good example
Each bullet should earn its space. Lead with the fact or conclusion, remove background that does not change the decision, and distinguish verified facts from assumptions or recommendations.
Formatting matters less than clarity
A clean page helps, but the value is concise reasoning. Use MilAdmin to keep the document consistent while you focus on the content.
