Navy Signature Block Example
Signature blocks are easy to imitate visually and easy to get wrong administratively. Use examples to understand placement and components, but verify the signer’s actual authority and required title language.

Example components
- Typed name when required
- Title or authority language when required
- Delegated-signature wording only when authorized
- Consistent placement below the final paragraph
- Enough space for the actual signature method
Authority is not formatting
A perfectly aligned signature block does not grant signing authority. “By direction,” acting titles, delegated authority, and similar wording must be supported by the command’s actual authorization.

Review the signature block after pagination changes. Added text above it can change page placement and create an awkward or separated signature area.
